Einstein and Christ

Question: Do you accept the historical existence of Jesus?

Einstein: “Unquestionably! No one can read the Gospels without feeling the actual presence of Jesus. His personality pulsates in every word. No myth is filled with such life.”

Ramadan, when Muslims fast and pray.

Posted in September 16th, 2008

Please, keep Muslims in prayer, as they observe the season of Ramadan, September 2-30. Millions of Muslims worldwide are fasting and praying, seeking light from Allah, believing their sins are forgiven. Please pray that they will see the light of Jesus, and turn to the true and living God.

Evangelists arrested in Ethiopia

Evangelists arrested for “creating social unrest” in Ethiopia

Yonas and Yerga (not their real names), two well-known evangelists in the Muslim-majority region of western Ethiopia, were arrested on August 25 and imprisoned on false changes of “creating social unrest,” according to VOMC sources. Although the men were not physically tortured in prison, they said they were insulted, threatened and “very poorly treated.” Both were released on September 5 but the charges against them were not dropped. At last report, they were scheduled to appear in court on September 8.

Pray that the Lord will continue to make these believers strong to withstand opposition. Pray that their family members will entrust the situation into His care. Pray that Christian leaders in Ethiopia will work together to increase Christ’s kingdom at all cost (Ephesians 2:14-16).

2008 trip

We thank the Lord for all those who have been praying for us. Our theme this time was, “Spiritual Warfare” and we were tested soon as we arrived in Addid Ababa. The warfare was furious and unrelenting, however, the Lord granted us victory. Only then were we able to move on to the sites to minister and we will share the victories and the challenges soon. Prasie his name. We give glory to his name.

It is so great to have Shoan and Negest back with us in Arizona. They have been preaching, visiting, praying, and interacting 16 to 20 hours a day for three months, so they are still recovering, and need rest. Keep them in your prayers. I can’t wait for their coming newsletter. James Hoefer
